ABC News Now: ‘The next big thing in delivering the news’

ABC News Now is being hailed by some media professionals as the next big thing in delivering the news, a development potentially as significant as the emergence of cable news two decades ago,” says the Baltimore Sun’s David Folkenflik.

In the last debate, Pres. Bush commented regarding Stem Cell research, that he would not spend a life to safe a life, yet isn’t that exactly what he is doing in Iraq?

Kinda different isn’t it…The Soldier signs up for the military knowing he might have to go to war and possibly die. The embryo doesn’t have that choice.

I still agree that we should pursue this kind of research. I just want to make sure our philosophy is precise. It should also be noted that this uproar about Tax-payer funded stem cells is a lot of hullabalooh. Becuase the ban is on tax payer funded research. The bottom line is any research that occurs at tax payers expense (i.e, in a univeristy)almost never gets translated to bedside in the academic world (tax payer world). It all happens in industry, private sector, which can still do Stem Cell research under the current laws as I understand them.

Lets talk about things with the facts to solve this debate fairly, rather than just a bunch of emotional people arguing on both sides. Lets get Stem Cell Research to happen by being realistic about its potential, and lets get the public and activists well informed.
