Dow Jones Newspaper Fund seeking online editing partners
The Dow Jones Newspaper Fund has openings for up to 24 news organizations to participate in its 2008 online internship program.
The program provides an intensive, one-week training program for college juniors, seniors and graduate students at Western Kentucky University, after which the interns report to their respective online sites. The deadline for news organizations to sign up is Dec. 1.

The New York Times introduces online learning program
The New York Times has expanded its Knowledge Network by adding a new online initiative that pairs Times content with faculty course material for both credit-bearing and continuing education courses. Educators will now have the opportunity to select Times articles, archival content, graphics and multimedia content, including videos and Webcasts, gathered around specific subjects, and make them available to students online, along with other course materials.

Citizens Media Summit at APME
J-Lab: The Institute for Interactive Journalism, in conjunction with the Associated Press Managing Editors, will hold a one-day Citizens Media Summit Oct. 2, prior to the start of the conference.
Want to start your own community news site? Ready to wrangle citizens into writing for you? Hear how others are doing it -- from Brattleboro to Baristanet and Bakersfield.
