The former chief scientist at Novell, Jeffrey Merkey stated he paid-off Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales US$5,000 to edit his page on the online encyclopedia. Merkey says the edited comments were libelous. While Wales denies the allegations, the history of Merkey’s Wikipedia page shows that Jimmy Wales did make changes to it and that it has been classed as “protected”, meaning no other edits can be made.

Likewise, I myself was surreptitiously offered the same kind of assistance regarding editing my Wikipedia page, bullshido.net and other sites where I am being slandered and libeled with no ability to correct and have no recourse as per above articles stated reasons. I was told that it could be corrected for “less than the protracted cost to litigate with no certainty as to the outcome.”

Only in my case the payment isn’t money but my retracting prior statements, as in not provide testimony regarding criminal acts committed under the color of authority some of which were carried out by CIA cut outs, champions of fascism, like WACL chairman General Singlaub, removed from his post by President Carter; a well documented friend of Latin American death squads that’s alleged abuses of power and war crimes I dared to expose in my book The Secret Man, HarperCollins, 1996.

Inexplicably, as the Artesia Daily, July 18, 2008 also points out, “Wikipedia refuses to allow excerpts from Dux’s book to be used in mounting any defense or shed light on statements of fact. Citing it is self published when in actuality it was vetted (substantiated and independently verified) by HarperCollins’ prestigious law firm, Slade and Metcalf. But Wikipedia will (as previously mentioned), allow unsubstantiated blogs that generate controversy and drives traffic (over a million hits) to websites Wales owns from which to benefit.”

It is observable fact, that as part of his observably unethical pattern of behavior Jimmy Wales looks out for number one by editing his own Wiki page and deleting any mention of its co-founder Larry Sanger or any unfavorable comments about Wales himself like his pornography website bomis.com, he portrayed as photo art (as if lesbians on video fist f… is what one may consider art?).

I do not believe Wales or his proxy wikipedia should be protected from prosecution when it comes to laws governing trade libel or suppression of free speech (since all my comments or those of others who do not agree with his slant on the truth, end up deleted in both the articles and on talk pages) from which he benefits.
