1 comments about 'American Town Network'I just want to invite you and your readers from the American Town Network to come check out Orato, which aims to be the first news site exclusively devoted to citizen journalism in the first person voice. That is, stories which are told with the immediate and personal voices of eyewitnesses to major (or minor) events -- from the London Subway bombings to day-to-day life in the streets of Baghdad. As the site prepares to launch, we are issuing a world-wide invitation to the online community to bring stories to Orato. This community is a source of tons of good stories that should have a bigger and global audience.
Starting today, we are also introducing what I would not-so-modestly call the world’s most innovative and unusual Classifieds section. Together with our citizen news site, our Classifieds reflect Orato’s vision to provide every person with an opportunity to be heard. And we want our Classifieds to be useful, unique, and fun.
As an introduction to the site, for a limited time, all ads are free.
So come to our site now and post an ad for free in any of our 12 categories. You ad will be good for 30 days and it can be regionalized so you have the chance to get in touch with people in your area – anywhere in the world.
I’m confident you’d like our ground-breaking proposal. After all, how many classifieds do you know that:
• Give you a minimum of 500 words to make your pitch?
• Allow you to announce your sex change, or confess to the world You Lied?
• Promote your demonstration or your garage sale?
• Track down fugitives from justice or find a long-lost relative?
• Get a date, or failing that, write a love letter to your pet turtle?
• Find a homeopath, an osteopath or a naturopath – all in the same place?
Also when you visit Orato, if you’re interested in being a contributor, please take the time to register to receive updates as we get closer to the launch of our first-person news site.
Raise your voice and speak to the world!
