The Huffington Post and NewAssignment.Net today announced that Marc Cooper, a veteran political journalist and author, has joined OffTheBus.Net, their new joint venture in campaign journalism. Cooper will be editorial coordinator for OffTheBus.Net and will also serve as special correspondent for The Huffington Post.
OffTheBus is the collaboration between The Huffington Post, where Arianna Huffington is co-founder and editor-in-chief, and Jay Rosen’s pilot project, NewAssignment.Net. OffTheBus launched in July as a network of campaign bloggers who have diverse views and beats, and other volunteers for “distributed” reporting projects that would be hard for a traditional news organization to undertake.
