Kansas City Star: Web Watch
Here's what some folks have been waiting for: citizen journalism. A new grassroots news site is under development at NowPublic.com. (Credit to informative site cyberjournalist.net for bringing us this news.)
The idea is, you, the reader, assign a story, then a "reporter" goes after it and posts words, video, etc. Apparently the site is still in beta testing. So it's hard to tell as it stands now whether this is a good idea or just another goofy blog that will recycle and repackage what's already out there. Or deliver lots of soft-focus camera-phone snaps from the "real world." Check it out for yourself and/or stay tuned.
