For the brief transit strike, that was a great call by the NYT. However, the strike is over. Now what? Like other traditional outlets, the NYT should develop a network of "beat" citizen journalists. This shouldn't take away from the professionals on its staff, but they can't be everywhere. Just like the radio stations that offer $100 for the best news tip of the month, traditional media can and should do the same with citizen journalists.
