Complete war coverage from RealOne
Real Networks is increasingly starting to sell itself as a content company, positioning itself as a player in the online news world. Since the war started it's been pitching its "RealOne SuperPass" on Real.com as "Your direct line to the front lines: Get complete war coverage from RealOne SuperPass. Stay up to date with the best news coverage on the web from CNN and ABCNEWS." Real has created and is also pitching a "continuously-updated guide to free and paid broadcast coverage from around the world of the war in Iraq." RealNetworks says it's seen demand for Internet-delivered audio and video news jump significantly since the start of the war and that the news sites that RealNetworks serves have delivered about five times more audio and video news content than they did before the war.Apr 10, 2003 | E-MAIL | SAVE | PRINT | PERMALINK | DISCUSS(4)

4 comments about 'Complete war coverage from RealOne'Wow! So for the low, low price of $19.95 (or whatever it may be), Real can bring me the latest news from CNN and ABCNEWS? Couldn't I get that myself, for free, by bookmarking those two sites on my browser? Not quite sure who would pay for this service.... I guess all those people who are watching baseball from Real on their computers.

Both CNN.com and ABCNews.com now charge for their video online. You can get them either through the RealOne SuperPass, or by subscribing through the sites directly.
