'Making the News' with Dan Gillmor

San Jose Mercury News columnists and Weblogger Dan Gillmor is writing a book called "Making the News" about how communications tools are turning traditional notions of news and journalism in new directions. "Tomorrow's journalist will understand that our readers/listeners/ viewers are becoming part of the process. We're collectively creating a new kind of journalism, something resembling a seminar or even a conversation. I take it for granted, for example, that my readers know more than I do -- and that this is a liberating, not threatening, fact of journalistic life." Now Gillmor is practicing what he preaches -- by taking the novel step of posting his book outline online (and eventually his first draft) and soliciting ideas from readers. Congatulation such a wanderful step to taken for journalism.I am from Tripura, N.E. India.It's will be help to make a perfect Journalist for new generation and new think/creativity about this.
