NPR, Slate to produce daily radio show
NPR News and Slate Magazine announced they will co-produce a new, one-hour weekday newsmagazine, Day to Day. Day to Day is the first program collaboration NPR has initiated with a commercial media outlet in its 33-year history.Veteran NPR correspondent Alex Chadwick will host Day to Day, which will debut in July 2003. A full-time editor from Slate will join the show's production staff, and each show will feature contributions from Slate writers, including founding editor Michael Kinsley. NPR and Slate will also co-produce online features for the program and cross-promote their Web sites, slate.com and npr.org, with content links.
"Day to Day is going to join the voice and written word in a very powerful way," said Ken Stern, NPR's executive vice president.
