Benefits of convergence in Dallas
The Dallas Morning News' Web site has been driving subscriptions to the print newspaper, said Gerry Barker, general manager of DallasNews.com for Belo Interactive. Other benefits of convergence he pointed to: traffic coverage boosted the popularity of a TV station's Web site; newsroom staffers like seeing daily lists of the most popular online stories; and targeted newsletters enable reporters to alert readers to upcoming articles. "Even though we have a lot of buy-in from the top, convergence is won in the trenches," he said. "It's really winning people over one at a time."May 16, 2003 | E-MAIL | SAVE | PRINT | PERMALINK | DISCUSS(0)
