Gannett News Dept. site now public

The Gannett Newspaper Division News Department Web site, which is packed with training tools and examples of good work from Gannett newspapers, is now public. "Over the years, we have added many new features and examples of good work from our newspapers," says Anne Saul, Gannett's News Systems Editor. "We're proud of them and want to share what we're doing with our colleagues outside Gannett." The site includes:
• The Gannett Readership Guide, including links to good work in environmental and education coverage, examples of good newcomers guides and tools for reaching young adults, as well as links to Gannett's new publications targeting young adults.
• Online research and training materials, plus examples of best practices and multimedia efforts at Gannett newspapers.
• A section that includes examples of work that reflects the diversity of Gannett communities, as well as Census and diversity-development resources.
• Training resources and links to Web sites useful to journalists.

As I understand, Gannett News is conducting a poll asking the following question: "Are you in favor of stem cell research?" with a "Yes" or "No" response required. As I would be in favor of adult stem cell research but opposed to embryonic stem cell research, I question the validity of such a poll. The question posed by Gannett News should reflect that choice.
