$10K for great interactive journalism
The Batten Awards for Innovations in Journalism are accepting nominations, with the winner to receive $10,000:
"The awards seek to reward journalism that uses new information ideas and echnologies in innovative ways to involve citizens very actively in critical public issues.
"Honored will novel multi-media approaches to journalism that spur non-traditional interactions and that have an impact on a community. Entries may also demonstrate simple efforts that notably connect in new ways with a community.
"Encouraged are both top-down and bottom-up innovations, those driven by the news organizations and those that require significant audience participation."
