NYT: Great Performers
Lynn Hirschberg narrates an interesting companion slideshow to The New York Times Magazine's recent Oscars cover package featuring photos of 21 great performers. She talks about the actors chosen for the spread, why they were chosen, adn then then gives a behind the scenes look at the photographers and why they were chosen. "What we wanted to do was feature the actors who had amused, dazzled, enlightened, enraged and transfixed us," she writes. "...We conceived this list as our version of the Oscars."
A good example of creating a multimedia element online that adds value to the print spread, and yet at the same time stands alone as a strong package online.
