Web, print story differences

For those who didn't realize that news stories on newspaper Web sites sometimes vary from the print versions, CJR Campaign Desk's looks at why that is.

The Washington Post's Robert McCartney says that while the Website may differ from the newspaper, "we only have autonomy in the sense that we have a different time frame. We don't do anything that the newspaper doesn't support, approve, endorse or back. We are not trying to carve our own path except for getting breaking news of importance to the readers while maintaining the Washington Post's rigorous standards for accuracy and fairness."
