Candidates advertise on news sites
The Republican National Committee recently bought pop-up ads on 1,400 news and information Web sites, including the Los Angeles Times, a career site for traditionally black colleges, tech information sites, and recipe and entertainment sites. "We're testing it to see if it's an effective way to reach out to voters," said RNC spokeswoman Christine Iverson. Ads for Sen. John Kerry have also been appearing on online news sites.
