WeatherNews for cell phones

WeatherNews is cellphone software that lets you call up detailed weather information for any major city: by zip code, city name, region, vacation spot, airport, etc. The New York Times' David Pogue says its cleaner designed, more thorough and better-looking on the small screen than general weather-news sites.

"It also has certain features that are especially tailored to cellphones: For example, you can set it up to beep at you when there's going to be bad weather, or even a sudden temperature change, in specified cities," he writes. "
If you're using your cellphone as an alarm clock-hey, some people must do it-WeatherNews can even wake you earlier if there's bad weather. (In advance, you program it to specify how much extra time you think you'll need to get where you're going.) That's a truly ingenious touch that could save many a frequent flyer from missing flights."
