Karpinski does live chat with washingtonpost.com readers

washingtonpost.com nabbed Brig. Gen. Janis L. Karpinski, the commander in charge of running prisons in Iraq, for a live chat last week. What a great use of the tool to let readers directly question one of the key players in the biggest story of the day.

A number of readers asked her about her responsibility in the matter and she said, "I am responsible for those soldiers and I take responsibility to the appropriate extent."

She also said she did not ask the Army for approval for the live chat. "the Army may or may not be aware of my chat. I have to choose information specifically in consideration of the ongoing investigation and pending court-martial."
