USC: 'Making it in L.A.'

"Making it in L.A." is an excellent online journalism project conceived of, reported and produced by six graduate students at USC Annenberg for a course titled, "Convergence Capstone - Multimedia Reporting," which investigated social justice issues in Los Angeles.

Aside from the solid reporting and writing, the project is notable for several things:
• The smart navigation, which links every issue to a face and vice-versa, a great way to humanize the issues and provide depth at the same time
• Video interviews with the key players in the story, some nicely embedded in the story pages
• The detailed set of materials used in the project, which make it easy for online journalists -- both students and professionals -- to learn from this project:
