The broadband generation
Guess what happens when the young get broadband? 18 to 34 year-olds with broadband spend 52 percent more time online compared to their dial-up counterparts -- and spend a disproportionate amount of time on entertainment and content sites (as opposed to e-mail, IM and e-commerce sites), according to a new study by the Online Publishers Assocation. Time spent with entertainment sites increase 98 percent, time spent at general news sites increases 72 percent and time spent on weather sites increases 185 percent for 18 to 34 year-old broadband users compared to their dial-up counterparts.
