How blogging at the convention will work

Chris Casey and Brian Reich, the Director and Deputy Director of Internet Services for the Democratic News Service respectively, will be coordinating the interaction between bloggers and others at the Democratic Convention. Riech shared some insights into how this process will work with CyberJournalist.net:

"The DNS is a mini-media center created to help the elected officials and candidates at the Convention reach local media in their own states and districts. This effort is dominated by television, and our three-mini TV studios will be booked from morning to night, allowing satellite feeds to local stations. Radio booths will facilitate call-ins to talk radio programs. The Internet team (led by myself and Chris Casey, a veteran of online Democratic politics as well) will seek to help anyone who is interested to get online into a chat, guest blog posting, online interview, etc...

"We will do our best to grab onto elected officials and candidates as they head through the traditional media centers of the DNS, and connect them with both credential bloggers (who will hopefully be standing by), as well as online media more generally. For the ones who are on site at the convention, we will try to arrange for face-to-face meetings, for those who are elsewhere, computer-to-computer hookups will have to do. For example, if Senator Daschle is coming by our studio for a scheduled satellite interview, we can try and help arrange them to come early or stay a little after to do an online interview, maybe with a blogger representing a half-dozen other bloggers (like an online pool reporter). We can't promise on success, but our goal will be to help bloggers and any online media get the access they're looking for to cover the convention."

Reich says you should feel free to contact them with questions, requests, ideas, etc... Here are their e-mail addresses:
