Julia Child's Slate Diary
Infamous chef Julia Child died today, but she lives on online. In 2000, she wrote a Slate Diary that covered everything from grocery shopping and tricky sauces to what to eat for breakfast. "We have decided," she wrote, "to do a demonstration about sauces. People seem to be afraid to make them, and that's silly because they aren't that difficult to do, and they add so much to the dish."
