Hurricane Ivan prompts Mississippi paper to launch first blog
The (Biloxi, Miss.) Sun Herald inaugurated a blog on its Web site last Tuesday to cover Hurricane Ivan and it quickly became a gathering place for people to learn the latest information, ask for information and offer comments.
"We heard from people from Coast to Coast, as well as those checking in from as far away as Sweden, New Zealand and England all concerned about the Coast and its residents.
"Staff writer Don Hammack served as the blogger, or as he was dubbed, "The Bloginator," posting reports of his own, other reporters and information from readers who e-mailed us."
