Publisher: Small papers, radio stations should converge
Small, community newspapers are in a better position to take advantage of media convergence than large publications, MediaNews CEO William Dean Singleton told National Newspaper Association convention in Denver.
In small markets, he said, the sales cultures of newspapers and radio stations are more similar, so it is easy to cross-train personnel to market both. Therefore he recommended that smaller newspapers can and should combine with small-market radio stations.
