Cnet gets Flashier
CNET is really targeting the broadband user now -- and along with ESPN.com is doing so more on its home page than any other major news site. CNET launched a redesign today, adding a lot of Flash to its home page. Cnet has "painted the site in deeper colors," adding a new set of bright green tabs along the top of every page. The site has also elevated the role of video, embedding a large video player at the top of the home page.
Cnet is also expanding its already robust emphasis on user opinions, adding two new user-based series: Show Us Yours, a showcase of home-theater setups, and Ask the Editors, a quick Q&A between readers and editors.
Here's an interactive tour of the redesign.
