Christian Science Monitor's campaign simulation game

Here's another great politics game, this one on a news site. The Christian Science Monitor has partnered with Kellogg Creek Software to make available an excellent campaign simulation game, Power Politics III (which is also co-sponsored by Rock the Vote and Gallup). Kellogg software sells a more deluxe version, but this version is available for free.

Joel Abrams, partnership development specialist for CSMonitor.com, says the sophisticated simulation lets users really get inside the nuts-and-bolts of a modern campaign: order and the check the polls (on a national/regional/state/city level), order up ads and make media buys (on a
national/regional/state/city level), schedule your candidate's travel, schedule your running-mate's travel (and decide how much he'll campaign vs. fundraise), and even call in the plumbers for mild 'dirty tricks.'

"The best part is that you get to choose your candidate: so you could see if Howard Dean could beat Bush, or (using the deluxe Fantasy version) if Hillary Clinton could beat John McCain or any other match-up that strikes your fancy," Abrams says.
