Election night blogs
Not surprisingly, nearly every major news site has one or more Weblogs blogging the election -- not to mention all the independent bloggers out there. Blogging has clearly gone from an independent hobby that a few news sites dabbled in to a tool that news sites now see as a routinue part of covering major events.
Here are just a few of the election-night blogs major news sites are running:
Knight Ridder's America Votes
nytimes.com's Times on the Trail
Watching the Returns With Frank Bruni
Newsplex/Cingular Wireless Election Connection
USAToday.com's ElectionLine
CNN.com's Blogwatch
CNN.com's Behind the Scenes Election Night Blog
CNN.com's Election Night Campus Blog
BBC's Blogging the Election
BBC's reporters logs: America Votes

McCain went from McBush to McCain to Maverick to Straight-Talk Express. Guess what? Now he is Mr.Change. How many faces does the Joker have? And now on his fantasy walk to the White House: enters Pretty Woman (his #5 on the list). Who stated on TV that she did not know what the VP did. The Joker said "That's Ok, me Bush and Big Oil will help you".

Dear Community Organizer:
During the Republican National Convention Senator McCain and Vice Presidential nominee Governor Sarah Palin once again demonstrated the need for change. Their smear tactics of Senator Barak Obama and mockery of community organizer’s across this country should not be ignored and should be addressed. Civic leaders of the Democratic Party recognize that both civic and political responsibilities are associated with creating safe empowering communities. While good politician and public administrators are critical to the governmental process; they are not miracle workers. They need the support of community organizer’s.
Project Soar in Atlanta will be launching a community organizer’s campaign. Project Soar is working with local churches and other Community Resource Centers to address both voter registration and getting individuals to the polls on election day in November.
The Project Soar community organizer’s campaign will address the need for change in the community by demonstrating what we do best and that is mobilizing. Each organizer’s services will help:
• Inspire and motivate residents to take ownership of their community
• Expose the similarities between a Mayor and a community organizer
• Create new passion for civil rights
• Continue to strengthen our capacity building structure within a community
• Eliminate the lack of voter participation in this country
The community organizer’s campaign needs your help in mobilizing transportation assistance between church’s, assisted living communities, housing authority residents, and those with disabilities in getting these individuals to the polls. We ask that you connect with any community resource center in your area to serve as a base structure to accomplish this goal. America does not have the luxury of procrastinating on this effort. We are up against a wall to almost do or die. Whether or not we like one another personally, we need to once again join forces and make this happen. Search and Recruit individuals and organizations with certified drivers and an available van or bus the will be committed to this partnership. The effort is not completed by only registering individuals to vote, if they don’t have a way to get to the polls the day of voting. Community organizers of all ethnic, racial and faith backgrounds must send a message to Capitol Hill as to why grassroots leadership is invaluable.
Project Soar will be handling all the administration, logistics, and scheduling in the Southeast Atlanta region. We need your support to help further these efforts to build stronger communities. For more information about this community initiative please call 404-567-4225 to leave a message or email project.soaratl@yahoo.com of your interest. Please forward this to friends, associates, professionals and others who believe in the power of community organizing.

Has anyone identified the offenders? They could be PLANTS to smear McCain. And just remember, McCain cannot control what others do.
I believe it is very prudent that questions on background be put forward. Now is the time to do it! We do not know Obama. I like his persona, too, but we have to enter into this marriage with open eyes! After election will be too late!
The rhetoric called “HATE” needs to be displaced with the term “CONCERN” for our future!
Obama has openly lied, changed positions, didn’t know his own convictions early-on having to wait and feel out the public and opponents, and seems to say what he thinks his audience wants to hear. “Words, only words.” We certainly cannot believe he was a member of that congregation for twenty years and did not know went on. Why are so many of his associates questionable? He has given no substantiated evidence of his background and activities. Where are lifelong friends who should be vouching for him? He seemingly is a wolf in sheepskin to those of us who haven’t joined the ban wagon, keeping their eyes open!
He supports abortion and is willing to kill his own grandchildren. He most likely will lead us to assisted deaths/suicides to relieve the country of other burdensome beings: old people, mental patients, disabled, who knows who. Perhaps you or your child who is in a comma from an accident! For the most important job in the world, how can you trust someone who openly defies moral right and would be refused by the Secret Service or the FBI with his questionable background?
Personally, I endorse McCain because he has displayed an upright position on issues, knew his own convictions from the beginning, and has loved beyond self for unnumbered, unknown others with great sacrifice. He adopted; not out of his need, but out of love, empathy, and caring for others, despite his own frailty and weaknesses. Obama has shown his love through his rhetoric. Words are easy.
Obama has fought dirty politics, too, but has had to go to the VP position to do it! Why? Because of McCain’s clean record and years of front-and-center profile in the country! Both men have smears of adultery. The only times I have heard McCain and his supporters called liars is in the name of “hate” which really should be termed “concern for our country.”
I dare to say that Chicago politics has taught Obama a lot of dirty; like “plants” in the opposing rallies to build negativism toward McCain. Obama certainly has had the budget to hire others to do his dirty work! Twenty years with Pastor Wright would have taught him to seed the term “hate” for the term “concern!” McCain has not had such exposure and is and always has been an upright candidate for the most important job in the world!
DECENCY IS THE ONLY WAY TO PROMOTE VIGOROUS SELF-ESTEEM, PEOPLE, AND COUNTRY! Keep your eyes open and be concerned!

Lets talk about a fact. Charles Keating was a corporate man who owned among other things a savings and loan - specifically Lincoln Savings and Loan. It seems Mr Keating swindled millions from the institution's depositors and investors and when caught, enlisted the help of some of his best political pals to help bail him out. One of those friends was John McCain (a friend that Keating would refer to as a wimp). The idea was that Keating and four others would get the feds off his back - no doubt in exchange for the generous contributions made to political campaigns. Ultimately, Keating went to prison and McCain's and the other four's role in helping him out were swept under the rug. None-the-less, it shows what kind of character McCain has and who his friends are. If Palin and McCain wish to assasinate a man's character, they better make sure they step out of the glass house they are standing in before throwing stones!
