Geocoding photos, stories
Imagine every news stories geocoded by location, so that you could not only easily find any story related to where you're from, but related to where you are at any moment on your wireless device.
Of course, geocoding every story would be a lot of work for any news organization, but here's an easy solution: there's growing interest in linking up GPS devices and digital cameras to automatically geocode photos. Once this becomes affordable, news sites could link up the photos with the stories they run with, automatically tagging them with the same geocodes. Presto! Geocoded stories.
