ABC to relaunch multiplatform news service after investing millions
ABC News is going to invest another $7 million to $10 million in the technical infrastructure, on-air look and personnel of ABC News Now's News, the network's digital 24-hour news channel. The channel will drop off digital cable networks Jan. 30 and return later in the spring, but will continue to be available on the Internet and wireless devices.
"We proved the success of the editorial product," ABC News President David Westin says. "I'm convinced this service is the future. It's just a question of what is the best distribution model."
