A repository of 'mean-spirited rumors'
Howard Kurtz: "I'm a big fan of bloggers, but the blogosphere has also become a repository of a lot of mean-spirited rumors that seem unaccompanied by a shred of evidence. I am not going to publish any such unsubstantiated crap without being able to pin down the facts."

And when such forgeries are discovered, the blogosphere tries to bury the truth in phony "investigations" and refuse to admit or correct errors...
No wait, I was thinking of something else...

One of the things that MSM (say Poynter) could do for bloggers withought journalism training is find ways to help bloggers understand essential matters such as libel law. Because I am a trained media professional who teaches journalism, I bring the same BS detector to blogging that I bring to my journalism work. I thing that we could develop a better working relationship between MSM and bloggers by participating formally in blogging venues such as Bloggercon and SXSW, instead of continuing to perpetuate this false dichotomy between (putatively) responsible journalists and irresponsible bloggers.

LOL, yeah, sounds like the MSM to me... a repository of propaganda posing as "news"... and gee, how many -fake- journalists posing as "news models" are on the tube?
