The Chicago Tribune has produced a multimedia CD-ROM titled "Be not afraid: The epic papacy of John Paul II."

"In nine interactive narratives, readers can experience the Tribune's rich reporting in a comprehensive new way. This special report combines text, music, historic video, papal writings, more than 350 photographs, hundreds of archival Tribune articles and dozens of exclusive interviews with key newsmakers, including former Polish President Lech Walesa and former U.S. President George H.W. After Sept. 11, The Chicago Tribune got thousands of orders from all over the country for its commemorative CD-ROM containing stories related to the attacks; streaming-video interviews with 25 Tribune reporters who covered the story; an interactive that tracks the flight path and chronology of each hijacked plane; and video and more than 300 photographs of related images, including many never published before, according to a customer service representative. The representative told CyberJournalist.net at the time that daily call volume reached 18,000 a day. "It's mind-blowing," she said.
