WeatherBug seeks citizen reporter

WeatherBug has been holding a contest to find one user to accompany its team on "Storm Chase 2005"

Users submitted applications online last week and now they'll be narrowed down to three finalists, whom WeatherBug users will vote on to select a winner.

"The winner will be chosen by a vote of all WeatherBug users, just like American Idol," says WeatherBug's Mark Hoekzema. "It is complete community participation."

They will share their experiences with the public "through a daily journal and conference calls with schools and potentially with national reporters."

(Deadline is already past, but wanted to note it because it's an interesting idea)
