Buzz, blogs and the election
The Pew Internet & American Life Project and BuzzMetrics examined the impact of online buzz on the national agenda during the 2004 presidential election. The analysis suggests, among other things, that bloggers served as a sort of guide for the mainstream media to the rest of the Internet.

I live in Brazil, and when blogs appeared, it was a crap! Just imagine lots of diaries together and many teenagers writing shit! Now the blogs are used to spread news and opinions. Better now. =)
