Sun-Times drops stocks
Newspapers have been trimming back stock tables in print for years, in recognition that many folks are looking up the data online. But now the Chicago Sun-Times has stopped running daily stock tables in print, which according to The Chicago Tribune makes it the first large-circulation daily U.S. paper to do so.
"It's a recognition that for a great majority of readers it's redundant," said Sun-Times Publisher John Cruickshank. "It's not an easy way to present the stock. It's a whole lot easier to go on the Web."
