Cambridge Event News launches online interactive Sudoku puzzle
The Cambridge Evening News has launched an online version of the hit puzzle game Sudoku.
Created entirely in-house by the New Media team, Sudoku Online has a live leaderboard so players can compete against each other for the best times. A new puzzle is available to play online seven days a week, with new games automatically created every day by the software.
And the format is also going to be exported to the newspaper, so readers can also play when they buy the print version of the Evening News.
"Sudoku is sweeping the nation but there are very few places to play online," Web Editor Jeremy Palmer said in an e-mail to CyberJournalist.net. ""Many websites carry a version of the game now but the only way to play is to print it out and use a hard copy. We wanted to offer our readers something different and give them the chance to play against each other online."

Just thought you might like to know that there is a new Sudoku program available for download at www.GoldstoneServices.co.uk
The full product includes 10,000 brand new puzzles; puzzle solver; design mode to create your own puzzles; print option - handy for journeys; puzzle checker to see if you have made any obvious mistakes; Auto Notes so you can see candidate numbers for each square at a glance.
The demo version includes 10 sample puzzles of varying degrees of difficulty so that you can try before you buy. The product is priced at £9.99 which is not bad when you consider that thats for 10,000 puzzles!!!
