Akamai Net Usage Index
Akamai Technologies Inc. has launched a new site that shows the aggregate traffic to across 100 major news sites to indicate the interest in major events. The idea is that spikes in traffic might reveal a coming wave of news demand so sites can get prepared in time.
The Akamai Net News Index provides a map of six global regions and measures the current appetite for news relative to average daily demand in terms of millions of visitors to news sites per minute, per week, within each geographic region.
