Searches for "superdome," "the french quarter," "9th ward new orleans," and "bourbon street new orleans" are all spiking, while searches on "levees," "new orleans sea level," and "new orleans looting" have shot off the chart. Searches on "martial law" and "what is martial law" have also gained momentum.

Interest in Katrina pictures, live coverage, and video continues to rise, and "red cross" and "fema" searches are surging. Fears of Katrina's economic impact also drove up "gas prices" in Buzz.
