Google launches blog search
Google has launched a new blog search engine at blogsearch.google.com. This is the first major search engine to launch a blog search (rumors are that Yahoo and MSN may follow).
The search differs from the others out there in that it emphasizes relevancy over recency -- others like technorati list the most recent posts first, while Google Blog Search lists the most relevent search results, although users can also sort by date.
Right now, Technorati is the only blog search engine to register on Nielsen/NetRatings' charts, drawing 545,000 unique visitors in August. But that's less than 1 percent of the 73.1 million that visited Google's main page, so Google should jump pretty rapidly.
