Personal Account - Earth: Blogging and the Emergence of DotCommunism is the latest work from David Manchester after putting Reporters Without Borders' Handbook for Bloggers and Cyber-Dissidents into a single html file with additional sources and art.
Manchester's own, unsolicited Personal Account tells a chilling tale of domestic political assassination and targeted economic warfare on US Citizens by elements of the US intelligence establishment over several decades. Also included are his recommendations for legal reforms, an examination of the role of a Free Press in democratic societies, a history of the online Democracy Wall for mainland China, and a selection of Manchester's related online publications from Technocrat.net, OsOpinion (now OsViews), eCommerce Times, and Stoned Out Loud.
The odd and untimely deaths of online journalist Steve Kangas and Pulitzer Prize winner Gary Webb are also covered. This extended article includes 15 appendices, replete with links, and the Frontispiece is a pretty cool gif animation of a complete internet map as of 18 February 1999.
