StarTribune.com redesigns to add relevance
The the Star Tribune and StarTribune.com in Minneapolis have launched a redesign intended in part to create a more integrated relationship between its print and online products - and have taken steps to better integrate the staffs as well.
Among the changes, as summed up by The Digital Edge:
On the site, navigation is now consistent throughout every page. High-interest content, such as scores from live games, appears higher on the page. "Related item" mouseovers on the front page increase the availability of relevant content without having to expand the page length.
In the newsroom, three to four members of the StarTribune.com team now devote some of their day to working with print reporters to take information over the phone, do quick rewrites or updates and post this content to the Web.
