New BBC training initiative
Paul Brannan, BBC News Interactive Deputy Editor, tells CyberJournalist.net that BBC has unveiled a new training initiative on its intranet called Reporting the EU that has been designed as part of the BBC's commitment to improving its coverage of the European Union.
"The course includes a quiz and two scenarios designed to build and
develop knowledge of the union and takes around 50 minutes to complete," he writes.
"It touches on an understanding of the EU's institutions, how laws are passed, its influence on British life and the range of perspectives held on the EU.
"All journalists in the BBC - along with programme makers or content producers whose work requires a knowledge or understanding of the EU -will do the course."
