Is Backfence fulfilling promise?
Writing on Jay Rosen's PressThink, Baristanet.com co-editor Liz George critiques hyper-local citizen media site Backfence.com. "At seven months old, there’s nothing passionate about Backfence and the lack of users reflects that. I’ve got to believe there are lots of vibrant local stories being shared in Reston, McLean and Bethesda, and people who want to talk, trade impressions and exchange information. They’re just not doing it on Backfence."
