Chicago Daily News pays citizen journalists
The Chicago Daily News is paying citizen journalists $100 for stories or photos that are the most viewed on the site in the month posted.
The site is an interesting online-only newspaper that combines traditional-style journalism with citizen journalism. It's edited by Geoff Dougherty a 14-year journalist who's worked as an investigative reporter at the Chicago Tribune and the Miami Herald.

I am not a journalist but I am in the process of sueing the Schaumburg police/social service dept for a terrible injustice done to me in May of 2007.
I am a middle aged college graduate with experience in the medical field.
This involved me as a caregiver/power of attorney for my elderly mother with Alzheimers & the lies of a sick relative that created a mess for me just because she wanted total control of my mother to take advantage of her.
I would love for this to go public since they are fighting to have this dismissed to save face even though they know they are at fault and have even fired the social worker involved & apparently she is no where to be found to take a deposition from.
This women was newly hired and on the job only three months. She was extremely bizarre and I really wonder if she was truly a social worker. She kept telling me she didn't care how she ruined my life and came up with a false affidavit before she was fired and also a # of police came up with affidavits that were not even at the house & the affidavits are something out of a movie. They are all fabricated with lies that never happened!
This is going to ruin my reputation for future employment plus the fear I suffered from the injustice that was inflicted on me.
I was falsly imprisioned for 30 hours after they tricked me into coming down to the station/social service dept to speak to them.
I would gladly speak to someone to elaborate further of what exactly took place to warn other caregivers/power of attorneys of what could happen to them in their own town while doing something good by taking care of an ageing parent.
