Roanoke Times launches daily video newscast online
The Roanoke (Va.) Times has launched a daily online video newscast, TimesCast, a four-minute piece that goes online at 3.30 p.m.
"It is clearly not your granddaddy's newscast," Roanoke Times editor Mike Riley tells CyberJournalist.net. "It's highly interactive (built in Flash), and it is an integrated effort involving our newsroom (heavily) and our online team. That structure, along with its playful approach, is what we hope distinguishes the TimesCast.
"We figure that if we don't try to shape ourr future with innovations like this one, the future is going to shape us."
You can watch it here.
