eWEEK unifies online, print operations
Merging newsrooms seems to be the hottest fad these days. The New York Times and USA Today both announced plans recently to do so. Now Ziff Davis is doing so for its flagship magazine, eWEEK.
Ziff Davis announced this week that it's promoting Eric Lundquist to Vice President and Editorial Director of eWEEK and Matthew Rothenberg to Editor-in-Chief. Lundquist has been the Editor-in-Chief of eWEEK and Rothenberg had been editor of Ziff Davis Internet's enterprise focused news sites, including eWEEK.com.
In his new position, Rothenberg will oversee the day-to-day operations of both the print and online editorial teams.
"We're unifying all our operations to create both products -- pooling our reporters under one news editor and writing into the Web and print, front-loading everything through a single workflow," Rothenberg tells CyberJournalist.net.
