CNN.com redesigns site
CNN.com has redesigned its site, jumping on the trend of designing sites for wider screens and with horizontal navigation.
Here's the site's summary of the new changes:
1. Horizontal Navigation
Moving the navigation to the top of the home page provides easier access to more content and features when you first get to CNN.com.
2. Most Popular Tabs
A new feature within our latest news and free video area, the "Most Popular" tabs show you the 10 most viewed text stories and video packages on CNN.com. Now, you can find out what everyone else is reading and watching right on the home page.
3. Watch Free Video
The new "Watch Free Video" area shows you the most popular and best video available, and provides instant access to our free video player. Go to the player to choose from hundreds of free video clips.
4. Watch CNN Pipeline
The "Watch CNN Pipeline" area shows you what premium content is available live on CNN Pipeline, a new service that gives you complete control over your news experience. Choose from four live streams to get exclusive access to the news as it unfolds. Access the "What is CNN Pipeline" tab to find out more about this premium news service.
5. Only on CNN
The new "Only on CNN" box provides a place for our producers to feature the most interesting and important news that you'll find exclusively on CNN. This area highlights content and features available nowhere else on the Web.
6. The CNN Wire
CNN covers the world to bring you the news and the CNN Wire gives you a running log of the latest updates straight from CNN world headquarters. We've created a special area for this content just below our main story to give you easy access to the latest news of the day.
7. Podcasts and Radio
Our new design gives you faster access to our CNN podcast selection and provides streaming content from CNN Radio, straight from the home page.
