BBC News Interactive wins design award

BBC News Interactive won this year's Best of Show / Peter Sullivan Award from an international jury in the online category of the Malofiej 14 competition, held by the Spanish affiliate of the Society for News Design and the School of Communications at the University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain.

BBC News Interactive´s package on the most recent British election was honored.

In online categories, judges gave five Gold medals, 12 Silver and 16 Bronze. Apart from the Best of Show, elpais.es (Spain), guardian.co.uk (UK), sun-sentinel.com (US), nationalgeographic.com (USA) and newsbbc.co.uk (Reino Unido) were given one Gold each.

Top medal winners are elpais.es (Spain) with five (one Gold, three Silvers, one Bronze) and elmundo.es (Spain) with nine (two Silvers and seven Bronzes). Ranking by country, Spain led (with 20), followed by the United States (eight) and the United Kingdom (three).
