Behind Microsoft's 'Times Reader" e-paper
Steve Yelvington is skeptical about Microsoft's new "Times Reader" electronic newspaper.
There is not an idea in the entire suite that I have not seen before. It seems to me that Microsoft is solving a series of problems that mean a great deal to (Microsoft's) Bill Hill and perhaps a few print publishers, but mean almost nothing to the consumer, at a cost to the consumer of additional restrictions, complexity, platform dependence, and lack of interoperability with the Web.
