The competition added a new category this year, Most Innovative use of Interactive Media:

Online newspapers are extending their reach into a host of new platforms – from the more traditional cable to podcasts, video-on-demand and even TiVo. We don’t want to bound this category by anything but our members’ imaginations, but we are looking specifically for creative implementation of cutting edge concepts or technology that offer revenue opportunities for the newspaper business. Think of this category as a way to trumpet the ways you’ve used Internet technology and innovative business approaches to interactive media to open new vistas for what the “online newspaper” can become.
