Who killed the newspaper?

A two-part series in The Economist looks at the future of newspapers.

One piece looks at how newspapers are making progress with the internet, but most are still too timid, defensive or high-minded.

Another looks at what the future may hold: "an elite group of serious newspapers available everywhere online, independent journalism backed by charities, thousands of fired-up bloggers and well-informed citizen journalists."
